At MCID, the warehousing and distribution facility combines with water, rail and highway access to form an intermodal distribution hub. Add EDI capabilities and quality control programs and the result is the capacity to ship any cargo, anyplace in the world, just-in-time and defect free.
Established in 1991, MCID is a designated Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) and is the only water to rail facility in Detroit. The FTZ location enables JGI to help customers develop tax and duty strategies that optimize tariff and tax savings.
Although the core products stored in MCID's warehouse facilities are primarily automotive-related, the company's customer base has diversified over the years. The goods handled by this facility include worldwide milk powders, dairy products, tobacco, alcohol, lumber and aluminum ingots.
